A lot of people who smoke on a daily basis are really afraid of the fact that when they quit what will happen to them. And that is a valid question to ask but it can be very overwhelming for a lot of people. Men usually are more reluctant to quit this habit as they think that it will be very difficult for them to get over the habit and they will relapse.

The best Lahore lungs specialist says that the benefits of quitting smoking can be seen a lot earlier than they are expected. It doesn’t sound believable for some people but the real results can be seen just after one hour of quitting. This then continues and the health of the lungs starts to improve right after quitting.

What does quitting mean?

There must be a lot of questions in your head about quitting smoking. Let me clear the air, it simply means that you break your cycle of addiction and you rewire your brain not to crave the nicotine. If a smoker wants to accomplish that he needs to have a proper plan that can make him have fewer cravings. The benefits begin just after 1 hour of smoking cigarettes.

12 Hours After Quitting

There are a number of toxins present in cigarettes. These are called monoxide toxins. These are specifically present in the smoke of the cigarette. This particular gas stops the oxygen from entering the lungs and in the blood.

If this gas is inhaled in high doses this can be very harmful to the lungs’ health and blood in the body. If a very high dose of the gas is inhaled in a very short span of time then it causes a lot of suffocation due to the lack of oxygen.

The carbon monoxide present in the body in excess gets washed off after 12 hours of stopping smoking. The levels of carbon monoxide return to normal and increase the levels of oxygen in the body.

After 24 Hours

The risk of heart attack is seeing decreasing after just 24 hours of quitting smoking. The risk of coronary heart disease increases a lot with smoking and as soon as smoking is quitted the risk of coronary heart disease is reduced. The levels of good cholesterol are decreased when a person gets addicted to smoking.

The blood clots then form in the vessels and these clog the flow of blood. Which in the end increases the risk of stroke.

After just 24 hours of quitting clear signs can be tracked where it is noted that the blood pressure is back to normal. The oxygen levels also increase as a result.

 After 30 days of quitting

In a matter of one month, the functions of the lung can be improved. As the healing in the lungs is observed the capacity of the lungs also improves. There is a huge difference, the instances of coughing and shortness are very much lessened.

The stamina while exercising or while indulging in an exercise or other activities like running can be seen improving after one month of smoking.
