Online Reputation Management is used to manage the status of one’s business or brand online, regarding both its present and future public image. How do they maintain a positive image on the internet? These are some things that come into mind instantly.

Internet, with all its beneficial features, is also home to innumerable negative comments about businesses. There are always exceptions to this rule where there are businesses that enjoy their orm success, but these are exceptional cases rather than normal ones. Strong orm is essential for any profitable business venture today days as it helps build trust points in their company’s online credibility through simply monitoring any adverse feedbacks affecting their business. Case studies had shown better conversions when companies used different methods of reputation management.

This is because most of the consumers use google when looking for products and services to assess whether the business, they are about to engage with is reliable or not before taking any further steps. It also provides them with valuable insights into the company’s history, its previous business transactions, and its performance which in turn can increase their company’s sales potentials.

There are several methods of ORM; each has its respective benefits and drawbacks.

Some of these strategies include:

Guest Blogging –

Posting positive content about one’s brand on relevant blog sites for a link back to their website is a great way to increase traffic to their site as well as build credibility and trust. For this to work successfully, they have to ensure that the content they write is relevant and interesting enough to get people to read it, comment on it or share it.

Content Creation –

This involves creating quality written content for their website, which helps build an image of being a reliable source of information regarding various topics. Be sure to create interesting and informative content that is helpful to the readers while being non-promotional about themselves. Ensure that they publish new articles on their website at least once a month, depending on the topic.

Press Release –

Getting featured in local, national newspapers, or online magazines can go a long way in improving their company’s reputation, especially when it has an opening, launching of a new product or service. Getting featured on popular blogs and social networks will help them get more people to their site and give an image of an established business with many connections.

Social Media –

It is one of the best tools for starting Orm. This can help them get in direct contact with potential consumers so that they can interact and build an understanding of their customer needs while also having the best opportunity to send out their brand message. Social media is one of the most effective tools for orm, apart from word-of-mouth publicity which is still consider to be one of the greatest.

Reputation Management Sites

 

There are many dedicated platforms that can help one manage their reputation and respond to any negative comments about their business. These sites also provide other features such as analytics and history tracking of their brand and its progress thus far.

The above steps will help one get starting with ORM, but it is important to note that there is always room for improvement and experimenting with new things if the ORM strategy is not yielding the results they expected. Be sure to consult a professional who understands how ORM works and can help provide a relevant solution for one’s business.
