In this world nothing is more valuable than life. Many law enforcement officers, military officers, public security forces, and private security services volunteer to risk their lives to protect others. As a result, it’s vital that they should have the best safety equipment and gear on hand at all times for maximum protection. So, to offer law enforcement officers ballistic protection from guns and shrapnel, PASGT level IIIA helmets are created. Investing in a high-quality ballistic helmet is the best way to shield the wearer from outside forces and impacts.

What is a Ballistic Helmet?

Sometimes known as a ‘bulletproof helmet,’ is a tactical helmet that shields the wearer’s head against threats such as bullets, physical impact, and explosion debris. They go along with bulletproof vest and act as a full body protector . And provide protection to special forces and military personnel.

According to Science Direct, these helmets limit ballistic strikes by 19%, while bulletproof jackets reduce them by nearly half. As a result, wearing a bulletproof helmet in a dangerous situation can help you avoid a fatal head wound.

These helmets protect a person from receiving serious bullet injuries. As a result, numerous firms, businesses, and military people use them on a regular basis.

When it comes to ballistic helmets, the number of options available can be overwhelming, such as level IIIA helmets or PASGT helmets. However, all helmets are given a rating based on their level of safety. These ballistic helmets are widely available in local stores or online from safety equipment providers.

Different types of Helmets

There are many different types of Ballistic helmets. Some of them are:

  • PASGT Level IIIA helmet:

Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops, or PASGT, is pronounced as: “pass-GET.” The US military used these tactical helmets from the early 1980s to the middle of the 2000s.

These helmet is designed with Aramid Kevlar Fibers. It’s also known as a K-pot or kevlar helmet. A lip above the brow of the helmet is their most distinguishing feature. Some of these combat helmets are still in use today, with some using original fiber technology and others using improved combat pads and fibers. Nevertheless, PASGT helmets are one of the best safety tools for military and other law enforcement officers.

  • MICH helmets:

The (MICH) Modular Integrated Communications Helmet is a ballistic helmet created to lighten the PASGT helmet’s weight and adaptability. As a result, the MICH helmet has a flat lower brim behind the temple, no brow lip, and higher sides than the PASGT. Furthermore, the MICH has multiple layers of Kevlar, which makes it excellent for protection.

  • ACH helmets

At the time when US purchsed ACH helmets they were known as Advanced Combat Helmet. The ACH features a somewhat larger Space for a helmet, which is a plus point in terms of security. In addition, the ACH has more ballistic penetration than the MICH. If you’re looking for the best ballistic helmet, the ACH is the one for you.

  • ECH helmets

The Enhanced Combat Helmet (ECH) is made from molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) or thermoplastic. In appearance and weight, the ECH is similar to the ACH, but it is 35 percent thicker. In addition, its “tactical cut” style gives less coverage, but it compensates with improved visibility.

Construction of PASGT Level IIIA helmet?

The outer shell of PASGT’s uses 19 coatings of Kevlar fiber that protects the wearer from shrapnel and ballistic projectiles. Kevlar fiber is a strong and durable synthetic fiber specially made to stop ballistic impacts.

The US Army, USMC, and DARPA have given it a level IIIA ranking, making it ideal for modern combat. Furthermore, PASGT level IIIA helmets meet the MIL-1800 STD-662E safety requirements.

Features of PASGT Level IIIA Helmet

  • While the primary reason for wearing PASGT helmets is safety against shock and bullets, they also come in a variety of colors and styles, including olive drab, white, black, and camouflage patterns and hues such as six-color desert or woodland.
  • As multiple tactical forces use them, the colors can also be customize to match the requirements of different tactical forces, such as the US Army, US Marine Corps’ MARPAT, SWAT teams, and UN Peacekeeping forces.
  • You can even add the colors of the flag and logos of the institution that the troops represent on the helmets.
  • These helmets also have bands on them and also the blood type that helps medical forces in performing quick blood fusions in case of serious injuries.

Benefits of Buying Ballistic Helmets

Here are some of the benefits of buying ballistic helmets in the USA:

  • Better Protection:

Wearing a PASGT Level IIIA ballistic helmet with the proper bodysuit will protect your head, chest, shoulder, elbows, and other body parts. Without these safety tools, you can get serious injuries.

However, these injuries can lead to long-term complications such as a shattered bone or permanent nerve damage, etc. Ballistic-resistant full-body armor combined with PASGT helmets will provide appropriate protection for you and your teammates in any dangerous situation.

  • Greater Resiliency:

In battles, you are more likely to receive a serious injury if you get an injury in your head.

Unfortunately, most helmets aren’t strong enough to protect the wearer against ballistic threats, so consider investing in a PASGT ballistic helmet.

The helmets are resistant to gunshots and attacks. This means that these bulletproof helmets will last a long time and protect you against gunshots.

PASGT Level IIIA helmet is an effective solution to protect yourself from ballistic injuries. Furthermore, considering the above facts, the construction of these helmets is such that it provides a greater sense of security to the wearer.

If you want to get a PASGT helmet for yourself or your troops, you can get them from the arms store or order them online.
